Chrystine Rayburn is a multi-media artist and performer who uses experimental modes of listening and sound-making to navigate the entanglements of institutional and environmental landscapes. Through composition and installation she explores the ways in which collaborative performance, electronic processing, and sound synthesis can rupture the boundaries of body, space, and technological infrastructures. Chrystine’s sound design and installation work has been exhibited in galleries including Torpedo Factory Arts Center, The Anderson, and the 2025 SIGGRAPH Immersive Pavilion. She has been featured in releases by prominent sound artists including Stephen Vitiello and has performed in experimental music and dance venues including Chicago’s Elastic Arts and New York’s Triskelion Arts and La Mama Experimental Theater. Her work and research has been supported by grants from institutions including Virginia Commonwealth University, The MAP Fund, and La Porte County Cultural Fund. She received an MFA in Kinetic Imaging at Virginia Commonwealth University.
